Vacant Weekend

Hailing from Cumbria, Vacant Weekend are an alternative pop trio currently based in Manchester. Comprised of three school friends united by their passion for music, the band officially took shape in 2018. Drawing inspiration from disco, motown, and 2000s indie-rock acts like Two Door Cinema Club and The Wombats, they have crafted a distinctive sound loosely described as funk-inspired, groove focused, cathartic indie rock.  After two fantastic summers performing at festivals Kendal Calling, Bluedot, and Solfest, and debuting at the scenic Eskfest in Cumbria and Victorious Festival in Portsmouth, Vacant Weekend are set to return to Kendal Calling in their home county of Cumbria on 2nd August. The trio are joined by 3 phenomenal session players to make up a 6-piece live band, elevating their onstage energy and musical talent for a truly electrifying performance. As the band continue to build solid momentum, having already received support from multiple editorial playlists across Spotify and Apple Music, in addition to gaining praise from BBC Radio 6’s  Chris Hawkins, plus racking up an impressive 370,000 plays across TikTok with their single ‘Marlboro Reds’, their latest outing represents a further development in both the bands sound and journey.
