Linnea Olsson
Linnea Olsson started playing the cello as a 6-year old, pursuing her classical education all the way through music college in Stockholm. Finishing her studies 2007 she started freelancing as a cellist, playing behind artists such as Ane Brun and Frida Hyvönen. She released two albums in her pop- trio Paintbox. In 2010 she started working on her solo project, which consisted only of Linneas cello, a loop pedal and her voice.
In 2012 Linnea released her debut album ”Ah” that got high praise world wide. She toured as backing vocalist and cellist with Peter Gabriel on his So- Back to Front tour and starred as the opening act on his tours. 2014 Linnea released her second studio album; Breaking and Shaking, with raving reviews. Recently home from the Rock Paper Scissors - tour with Peter Gabriel and Sting she is now releasing new material; an album in two parts, the first one FOR SHOW is a 5 songs dark grunge chamber- pop- piece that she will follow up with NOT FOR SHOW which consists of 5 lighter, more pop oriented tunes with the cello still much present. First up is the single WEEKEND, a story about drinking yourself into a happier place.
